Dave Brown is a well-known and highly-respected industry consultant, teacher, and author. Dave has over 30 years of industry experience, including the past 12 years as a management consultant. Dave spent the first 20 years of his career working for a variety of technology companies and Dave’s experience includes both hardware and software systems. Dave has held senior management positions at Amdahl, Adobe Systems, Broderbund Software, and others.
In 1993, Dave founded Service Management International (SMI); a professional services firm providing consulting, training, and system integration services. Between 1993 and 2001, SMI became the world’s leading consulting firm dedicated exclusively to improving service businesses and customer support operations. SMI's clients ranged from small start-ups to large, multi-national firms, including Autodesk, ATT Wireless, Cadence Design, Cisco Systems, Intuit, Kodak, Microsoft, Motorola, NCR, and Sun Microsystems. SMI was a global service provider and performed client assignments around the world.
In May, 2001, Dave Brown founded Support Center University with a vision of providing high-quality training and process improvement services to technology companies. Dave is considered an expert in process improvement, staffing models, and change management and he typically works with high-profile clients to establish world class service operations.
The majority of Dave's time is dedicated to consulting assignments; however, he continues to develop and present training workshops and he is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Dave has published one book and more than 40 articles in various industry publications.
